This intensive, interactive, one-day course aims to help exporters to identify and analyse export opportunities, and to create a strategy that is in line with their business, products and resources. 


The event comprises a mix of formal teaching, group exercises and case studies, introducing a wide range of information sources and methods. The Export Journey seeks to challenge assumptions and provide the ability to build business strategically in accordance with the capabilities of the participant’s business. 


The Export Journey is suitable for people in sales, marketing and managerial roles and will present ways to evaluate and prioritise export opportunities and devise a strategy based on hard facts and solid understanding. The course is designed to complement the technical knowledge of Strong and Herd’s core courses.

The aim is to provide participants with the knowledge and skills to streamline import operations and work effectively with internal departments and freight forwarders.

In this workshop learner will find out why the tariff is so important, not only because it contains the commodity codes classifications but because of it's link to other trade measures. It looks at the structure of the Harmonised System (HS) and uses interactive session to help you understand how to classify your goods, the importance of section and chapter notes and how and when to use the General Interpretative Rules (GIRs).
