Export Controls increase the level of compliance for businesses whose exports require a licence. The Export Control Joint Unit is responsible for issuing export licences for strategic Goods, Software and Technology (Military and Dual Use) to countries outside the UK.
As part of their responsibilities, the UK Exporter (the Licensee) can expect regular audits from the ECJU. The licensee must be able to demonstrate that they are compliant in respect of the licences they hold and are registered in their name. This new course provides a detailed review of the requirements and considerations to best prepare businesses for the auditor’s visit as well as forming the basis for carrying out ongoing self-audits. We also cover the impact of Brexit and the increased customs compliance brought about by the UK's departure from the EU. And we take a look at the rule changes on export controls.
During the session, we will highlight your responsibility as the licensee and exporter and develop your understanding of ECJU audits, why they are required, and what you can expect. We review the importance of compliance and where your responsibility lies through proof of export, the customs declaration, documentation and record keeping and the ability to demonstrate compliance with the export of intangible transfers. We will also focus on what is now required for controlled exports to the EU post-EU Exit.
The afternoon will be spent discussing how an ECJU audit works and what you can expect on the day. We will arm you with the knowledge and skills to feel confident when this day comes.
This new training course has all the latest export control information from the Department for Business & Trade. It willgreatly benefit those exporters who must understand how best to prepare for an ECJU audit.
Throughout the day, knowledge checkers and discussion points will support the learning outcomes; all delegates are encouraged to participate and ask questions during the training. This ensures delegates are taking in the information and get the most out of attending an S&H Training Course.
