Understanding Origin & Preference
All goods need to be valued correctly for customs purposes, whether a sales, returns, temporary movements or free of charge. The clear rules laid down in the WTO Valuation Agreement and adopted into UK law, will be explained during this practical workshop session as will the difference between intercompany pricing and customs valuation. It will illustrate how to build a price for import customs purposes and the costs that must be included and those that can be removed.

Fully updated with the new and current EU & UK FTA negotiations, eg USA, India, Vietnam, Canada, Brazil, etc and the potential impact of the UK no longer being part of the EU and these agreements. It looks at the main elements of claiming preference at import and/ or issuing preference documents, applying for Approved Export Status (e.g. for S. Korea), when REX is applicable and issuing supplier declarations as exporters. Exercises during the day emphasise the rules and new regulations. Practical session allows delegates to review the rules for their own products by going on-line and use relevant guides. This is a great introduction and an essential guide to an important area of international trade.

Who Should Consider this Course?
This course is suitable for delegates involved in either exporting or importing goods under Tariff Preference, whether it is obtaining EUR1 Movement Certificates or issuing a Declarations of Preferential Origin on an invoice or making sure that the goods being imported do actually qualify for Tariff Preference.
