Inward Processing Relief - IP F2F Technical Workshop
Moving goods for process or repair / bringing them in for service, repair or process can mean incurring unnecessary and unrecoverable costs unless you use the correct customs special procedures. Operating IP, and utilising OP, can save a lot of money but it needs to be set up and managed correctly. This workshop examines when to use these procedures, how to apply and how to maintain compliance. Ideal for anyone currently using IP/OP or just wanting to know more.
Description
This course is a practical workshop aimed at delegates with experience in International Trade and a complete understanding of the customs requirements around imports, exports and record keeping.
This one-day workshop is designed for anyone currently operating Inward Processing or Outward Processing who wants a refresher on the requirements to use Special Procedures or if you are new to Inward Processing or Outward Processing and are considering the benefits of a Customs Special Procedure for your business.
This one-day workshop aims to guide you through these Special procedures and to understand the legislation surrounding this Procedure to give you more confidence when operating IP/OP.
By the end of the course, you will have a greater understanding of how this Special Procedure works, and this increased knowledge will help you make an informed decision on whether to embark on Inward or Outward Processing.
During the workshop, we will be looking at the legislation surrounding the rules to operate the Special Procedure and also what the alternative may be if you only manage a handful of shipments per year; therefore, would Authorisation by Declaration be of use to you?
We will review the requirements for an import and export entry and how you will discharge your IP liability within your throughput period. There will be a spreadsheet that we will use to record shipments into IP and the subsequent discharges.
During the course, you will better understand what a disposal/discharge is and how to present this within a customs declaration and a Bill of Discharge.
As Outward Processing is the opposite of Inward Processing, we will also review the requirements to operate this Special Procedure.
Finally, delegates will see a benefit in attending this interactive course on returning to their working environment as the aim is not only to enhance the understanding of the OP/IP procedures but also to instil confidence when talking to freight companies, HMRC and/or internally within your businesses.
We will use knowledge checkers and discussion points during the training to support the learning outcomes, and all delegates are encouraged to participate and ask questions during the training.
